BOSTON—Wayfair may be dipping its toes into the physical retail world, according to a Boston Business Journal report that says the online retailer plans to open its first brick-and-mortar showroom here. Located in the Back Bay neighborhood, the space is now a Marshall’s location, which will close in early June, a TJX spokesperson confirmed to the Business Journal. At Newmark Knight Frank’s annual Top O’ The Market event last week, a retail broker said Wayfair intends to open the showroom, located at 500 Boylston St., the Business Journal reported. The retailer is also expanding its office space with an additional 400,000 square feet at 500 Boylston St. and 222 Berkeley St., which are connected and owned by Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group, according to the report.
