Carolina saw 145 companies make the Inc. 5000 list – but few local companies cracked top rankings. The annual list ranks companies by growth.
The highest rated Triangle company was Aseptia, a food science firm that does business as Wright Foods, which ranked No. 20. The gap continues until No. 234, Wake Forest-based Nexus Global Business Solutions.
The highest ranking North Carolina company is Charlotte-based XOOM Energy, which ranked No. 13.
Triangle companies cracking the top 1,000:
- No. 20: Aseptia (does business as Wright Foods)
The Raleigh food manufacturer, which counts Dole as a client, grew 11,121 percent over the past three years, added 87 jobs and reported a 2014 revenue of $23.6 million.
The firm has 112 employees, according to the report.
- No. 234: Nexus Global Business Solutions
The Wake Forest company, which provides asset performance and maintenance consulting services, grew 1,881 percent over the past three years, added 70 jobs and reported $11.6 million in revenue in 2014. The company has 75 employees
- No. 262: Adzerk
The Durham advertising technology firm reported a three year growth rate of 1,726 percent, 2014 revenue of $2.1 million and ten jobs added. The company has 17 employees, according to Inc.
- 269. Patagonia Health
The health-focused software firm grew 1,687 percent over three years, added 15 jobs and reported $3.2 million in revenue for 2014. The Cary company has 21 employees.
- No. 399: Keen Strategy
The Raleigh-based brand strategy and marketing optimization firm reported a three-year growth rate of 1,183 percent, a 2014 revenue of $2.7 million and an addition of seven jobs. The firm has 10 employees.
- No. 467: Appia
The Durham app marketer, which was recently acquired by Digital Turbine, reported a 993 percent growth rate and a 2014 revenue of $32.6 million. The company hired 32 new employees and has a headcount of 70, according to the report.
- No. 676: Netsertive
The Morrisville marketing technology firm had a three-year growth rate of 668 percent, reported a 2014 revenue of $31.6 million and added 119 jobs. The company has 155 employees, according to the report.
- No. 691: Prime Energy Group
The spray foam contractor, which is based in Raleigh, reported a three year growth rate of 655 percent, a 2014 revenue of $6.8 million and added 31 jobs. The firm has 39 employees.
- No. 720: MaxPoint Interactive
The newly public marketing technology company, based in Morrisville, reported a three year growth rate of 625, 2014 revenue of $106.5 million and added 318 jobs. The company has 318 employees according to the report.
- No. 947: Relias Learning
The Cary company, which offers online training software, grew 469 percent over the last three years, reported $59.5 million in 2014 revenue and added 127 jobs. Relias, which changed ownership last October, has 296 employees according to the report.
